DESCRIPTION:Join us in supporting our Community Leaders\, First Responders\, Active Military\, Veterans and Wounded Warriors at this year's 18th Annual . . .\n\n\n\n\n \nOur Vision - Inspiring Clark County residents to honor\, encourage and support each other. \n\n \n\nOur Mission - Residents\, businesses and organizations honoring\, thanking\, and praying for our community leaders and those that serve and protect us. \n\n \nPresented by . . . \n\n\n\n\n\n2019 Keynote Speaker\n\n\n\n\n\nMajor General (Retired) Daniel York first met Jesus at the age of four on the island of Okinawa and was raised by godly parents\, who served as missionaries with The Navigators\, wherein Dan has lived in South Korea\, Japan\, the Philippines and across the United States.\n\n\n\nAfter graduating from Faith Academy High School in the Philippines\, he was selected for admission to West Point in New York. Dan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1981 & was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division and as a Company Commander deployed his unit to the Sinai. In 1986\, he joined the Army Reserves where he commanded at the company\, battalion\, brigade and division levels attaining the rank of Major General\, before retiring in 2017. \n\n\n\n Dan served on staff with The Navigators for ten years\, during which time he received a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary (West) in San Diego\, California. In 1991\, he moved his family to Oregon\, where he planted and pastored three churches. In 2000\, he started First Cause\, a leadership training ministry. He has written eight books and recorded seven albums of original music. In 2013\, he launched VetREST\, a nonprofit designed to help soldiers and veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS). In 2017\, he founded Strength As One Leadership\, LLC to provide leadership coaching with a team of like-hearted servants.\n\n\n\nCurrently\, he and his wife Kathleen live in Colorado\, wherein they have three children\, Bryan\, Sarah and Stephen and through Mark and Sarah\, four grandchildren Jadon\, Leili\, Simeon and Luca. His life verse and passion is Ps 40:3\, "He put a new song in my mouth\, a hymn of praise to our God. Join the Steering Committee at anytime\, wherein we meet at Lisa's Country Kitchen at 11:30am (for no-host lunch) on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
